Nino Spanu met en œuvre différents protocoles de recherche et d’investigation autour des questions d'impermanence, de trace et d’identité. La pratique de la reconstitution y joue un rôle central, en ce qu’elle permet de figurer les rouages réglementaires et bureaucratiques qui informent nos existences en tant que sujets administrés, tout en posant la question de l’écriture de la réalité comme fiction. La technologie, en tant qu’outil d’appréhension et de transcription du vivant, y est également mise en scène. Elle vient pointer l’absurdité de l’obsolescence informationnelle et l’échec perpétuel de la tentation humaine d’organiser le réel par catalogage ou par taxinomie. De mise en scène en mise en abîme, Nino Spanu produit un intertexte sur les dispositifs dans lesquels nous vivons.
Nino Spanu draws on various protocols of research and investigation based on questions of impermanence, memory, and identity. The practice of reconstruction plays a central role, in that it reveals the statutory and bureaucratic workings that inform our lives as administered subjects, while posing the question of writing reality as fiction. As a tool for perceiving and transcribing life, technology is also staged. It identifies the absurdity of informational obsolescence and the perpetual failure of human attempts to organise reality through cataloguing or taxonomy. From mise en scène to mise-en-abyme, Nino Spanu produces an intertext on the conceptual frameworks in which we live.
